Home Boarding Terms and Conditions
Our Commitment to Your Dog
At Pike’s Paws, we aim to provide the very best care in a safe, comfortable, friendly environment where your dog feels truly at home. By completing and signing our booking form, you agree to our terms and conditions outlined below, and to pay all boarding fees in line with our published rates.
We always act in the best interests of your dog. Last minute circumstances may mean we have to decline admittance, for example, if a dog arrives unwell or is in season. Regrettably we are unable to accommodate un-neutered male dogs. In exceptional cases, one‑to‑one support may be possible; please contact us as early as possible to discuss options and any additional costs.
Puppies & One‑to‑One Care
We may accept puppies under six months old, but usually only on a one‑to‑one basis. This means we may need to decline bookings from other guests during that time. Please contact us early to discuss your requirements and any additional costs associated with the more intensive support puppies need. All dogs must be housetrained and able to sleep through the night.
Vaccinations & Health Requirements
All dogs staying at Pike’s Paws must be fully vaccinated against:
Distemper
Kennel Cough
Infectious Canine Hepatitis
Parvovirus
Parainfluenza
Leptospirosis
A current vaccination certificate must accompany each dog (we will keep a copy on file).
We cannot accept dogs without up‑to‑date vaccinations. If vaccinations are not current, your booking may need to be cancelled and fees will still apply.
Please note: Kennel Cough is an airborne infection with a long incubation period, similar to the common cold. While we follow all licensing requirements, exposure cannot be fully controlled.
If your dog has a pre‑existing medical condition, please contact us in advance to discuss their specific needs and complete a medical waiver form. If a condition has not been disclosed, we reserve the right to refuse admittance. Should veterinary care be required during your dog’s stay, we will normally use our vets, Wangford Veterinary Clinic, and charges will include mileage plus one day‑care rate per visit.
All of our guests must wear a collar complete with dog tag and must be microchipped.
Behaviour & Safety
As we provide boarding and day care in our home the safety and comfort of all guests is essential. If a dog becomes aggressive or destructive, we will call your emergency contact for immediate collection. If collection is not possible, we may need to place the dog in secure external kennels; owners are responsible for all associated costs, including transport.
Great care is taken to integrate our guest dogs and accurate behavioural information is vital. Failure to disclose relevant behaviour that results in injury, damage, or incident will incur additional costs for repair, replacement, or veterinary treatment. These costs are not covered by our insurance.
Our Environment & Exercise
We will ensure that every care and attention is given to all dogs boarded, each dog is boarded entirely at the owners risk. Our secure play paddock is approximately a quarter of an acre with a 1.2m fence. If your dog is likely to jump this height, please let us know so we can ensure they remain on a lead.
Our home is a 3 acre organic smallholding set in rolling, beautiful countryside. We are surrounded my mature trees which offer shade in the paddock from the summer sun. We do not walk dogs off‑lead unless you specifically instruct us to do so. If you request off‑lead exercise, you accept full liability for any loss or damage that may occur.
